Buys, sells, orders, slippage, price impact, charts and balances.
Buying and selling
In the bot, paste the token's contract address into the chat and pick an amount. In the Terminal, search for it or paste the address, then use the Buy ticket. The fee and what you'll receive are shown before you confirm.
Usually one of three things: the token has its own buy tax (Torch launchpad tokens show it on the ticket, and quotes already include it), you bought in the first seconds of a launch when anti-snipe makes the tax much higher, or the price moved within your slippage. The success message shows exactly what you received.
On EVM chains, a token has to be approved for trading once before it can be sold. Torch does that approval for you automatically; you may see it as a separate step the first time. After that, sells are one step.
Check that you still hold the token and have a little gas on that chain. If both are fine, the token itself may block or heavily tax selling (honeypot or tax token). Torch can't override a token's own rules. Torch launchpad tokens never tax sells.
In the bot, sells go back to your main chain by default (they're bridged home automatically). You can switch the toggle to keep the proceeds on the token's chain.
1% per trade (0.5% on $TORCH), shown before you confirm. Part of it comes back to you as cashback. See Fees.
Slippage and price impact
Price impact is how much your trade moves the price (big trade, small pool = big impact). Slippage is how much the price may move before your trade lands before it's cancelled. Impact is known up front; slippage protects you from surprises.
The price changed more than your slippage allowed while the trade was on its way, so it was cancelled to protect you. Nothing was bought or sold. Try again, use a smaller amount, or raise your slippage a little in settings.
Your trade would move the price a lot against you. Torch stops and asks you to confirm with Buy anyway. Use a smaller amount if you'd rather not.
None of the exchanges could fill this trade right now. Usually it's temporary, or the amount is too large for the token's pool. Wait a moment, try a smaller amount, or check that the token still has liquidity.
Orders
Take profit, stop loss and limit buys, in the bot and the Terminal. Recurring buys (DCA) are in the bot. Creating or cancelling an order is free; the normal trading fee applies when it fills.
Orders trigger on the observed price and then sell into whatever liquidity is there. In a fast crash the price can drop past your trigger before the sell lands. That's the risk of any stop loss on a volatile token.
Orders cancel themselves when the position is gone (you sold manually, or moved the tokens). You get a message when an order fills or cancels.
Charts, prices and balances
The top shows the live price you trade at. Charts come from market-data providers and can lag on fast-moving coins. If a coin just moved to a new pool, the chart may still show the old pool; Torch then says the chart history ended and the header price is live.
Prices refresh automatically every few seconds while the page is open. If you left a tab open for a long time or your phone slept, pull to refresh or reopen the page.
Give it a few seconds, then tap refresh. Balances on every chain are re-read right after a trade, but a trade made in Telegram can take a moment to appear in the Terminal and the other way round.
Torch calculates PnL from the trades it made for you. Tokens you received another way (sent from elsewhere, airdropped) have no known cost, so their PnL can't be calculated.
Check the Hide under $1 filter and the chain filter. Very small or unpriced holdings are hidden by default. You can also un-hide tokens you hid yourself.
Yes. Use the Price / MCap toggle on the chart.
